2016 212x Thermostat replacement sealant?

I pulled my T-stats today for some opening season PM and there was nothing between the thermostat housing and the block. Should I use a permatex or yamabond to seal that? There was none on it, but historically I’ve always used rtv when reassembling these kind of housings in cars. Any ideas?
