Just hit 26 hour mark on 2018 195ID with 250 and no “check engine” light on. Based on previous posts everyone had a check engine / service engine light come on at 25 hours for oil change etc. I changed the oil and filter at 20 hours. I have the Candoo have never hooked it up, was waiting for the service light. Will read the engine in a couple days.

Anybody know if Rotax changed the software for 2018 models so they don’t turn this light on for oil changes / maintenance issues and only turn it on for critical issues.

Thanks

Forget the 25 hour question, the Candoo answered it. Someone forgot to program the correct countdown to maintenance minutes in. I still have 21 hours to go before the service light comes on which puts it at the 47 hour mark.

B.R.P. made a change on 2018 and newer models that extended the operating time for break-in. Now your owners manual says break-in inspection should be done at 25 hours instead of 10 hours. They also changed the initial maintenance clock from 25 hours to 50 hours.

Thanks scarabtech, glad to know mine wasn’t a one-off mistake which then makes you hope nothing else was missed. Have 37 hours and engine has been running good, no leaks etc, rpms still favor the 7700 to 7800 range.
