I am looking to upgrade my current steering wheel to the new one that is shown in the 2018 boats. I have looked online but can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know if you can buy the wheel and replace it on a 2015 242.

I believe this is the part number. Looks like retail is over $300....

I am trying to find this one.

One thing to note about this steering wheel is that there is no visible top-bottom to it. On my 242x, with the rack and pinion steering, it's virtually impossible to note when the steering wheel is centered (and you're going slow). My solution to this was to buy a sheet of kids stickers and now I have a monkey on the wheel...thus when the monkey is top-dead-center, it's an easy reference to see that the helm is centered too.

I'd put a red (or pick your color) pin strip on the 6 o'clock spokes. Probably wouldn't be quite as stylish as a monkey sticker, but that's how I roll. ;)

That's a pretty slick steering. I bought an aftermarket one with red in it to match my boat, but this one is pretty slick.

I have debated to changing to this

Has anyone on this form replaced their steering wheel of a 2011 sx240 to 2017 Ar 240 wheel please shown images if so.

Did my old wheel not fit?

If a 19 fit on my 16 then i would think the newer shafts are all the same. Not sure what would be different on earlier models

Looks like that piece that is left on the shaft needs to come off. See the slot for the keyway. That should be all thats left

That aluminum piece thats left on the shaft is supposed to be pressed into the steering wheel housing. It should have came off with it. Once its off you will be left with a shaft with the keyway sticking out.
Soak with something like pbblaster or similar overnight.

I was trying to remove that piece it did not budge so I will need to put some lubricant in there let it sit for it to come back out correct.
