Took my 255 out this season for the first time this season. Heard knocking sound from under the helm. Hydraulic pump worked itself free from bracket/floor of boat. Yamaha used small #10 screws to fasten this down.... (hardware seems light). Screws were all stripped out. Moved pump forward about 1/2" and refastened with 5/16" Lags. Then tested the steering - Although it works, it seems that the steering cable is not smooth/free... sounds terrible and bound up. Perhaps the cable seized up in the off season and caused the pump to force loose? Anyone else having this issue? Any feedback on what to go after? *I disconnected the cable from the nozzles and both rudder and nozzles move free.

Similar. My ram pulled free first 10hrs of ownership. It happened again after my 1 cable started to bind. You need to remove the nuts off the ram and see if each individual cable is not binding. You already checked the pumps and rudder.

If you have a cable binding, it will def put more force on the ram and securing hardware.

Def a piss poor design from our great quality control yammy engineers.
