We purchased our 255 in December of ‘21, brought it home in a snow storm (we live in Montana.) Before we picked it up the dealer called and said it came from the factory with the same cracks in the bill on both sides. Dealer fixed them and they looked like crap and we made them fix them again. First time on the water we can’t even get the boat on plane due to cavitation in the pumps. It will surf but will not perform to wakeboard or even let the kids tube. We think the dealer stressed it and cracked it and caused internal issues. Taking it to get it looked at this week after the first Yamaha rep told us it was normal to have cavitation issues if you throw the throttles forward ?. Boat won’t get on plane…
Anyone else have issues with this? They act like it is something we are doing. Before this we had a 242 XE (extremely underpowered boat) and a Seadoo with 450 hp, we know jet boats and had high hopes this one would rocket out of the water t wakeboard just like the old Seadoo. NOT the case so far…
Yes, we checked the clean outs… yes they are locked in correctly. Yes we are using the correct fuel, not an engine problem.
