we have had our boat for a year or so now and we just tried using the tower today, when I took off the tower pulled back. I went to shore and made sure everything was tight (it was except the nut you need an extra long extension). After trying to tighten that I gave up because it just spun. Any suggestions of how to get the rack tight. Or is it even not designed to use as a ski rack?

Thanks

@razorxp I am not sure what you are describing. Do you have a wake tower? Take some pictures of what you are trying to accomplish..

When I attach a ski rope to the top mount the entire base lifts up just to the left of the warning sticker on the driver side. The opposite side seems tight.

Ok, it sounds like you drop your tower when you store it. When you put the wake tower back up do you have someone lift the tower from the front center when someone screws down the locking nut? If you are doing this yourself the locking nut may not be seating... Also, if you can get a picture of the bolt you say just spins. @ScarabMike have you heard of the tower mounting bolt coming loose on any other boats?

I know I have found loose cleet nuts on my bolt. Wouldn't doubt the tower ones could come loose as well. I used a long extension and an impact wrench to get to mine. Just tuned the power down on the impact and used lightly

Slugger I don't take it down and they back screws are tight. If I get time tomorrow I will video what I am talking about happens.

Spcas I will see what I can do about tightening it but last time I used an extension from the underside and it just spun so maybe if I put the rack forward there is something I missed to hold onto.

Sounds like you have a plan. This is the first I have heard of a tower coming loose like it did....
