230 vs 240

Moved from a 05 AR230’s to 18 AR240. Love the new boat but I have to say my 230 was way quieter and The stock speakers are a joke on the new boat. Other than that I love the new boat. I wanna replace the bow roller. What size Shultz roller do I buy?

I moved from a 2008 Ar230 to my current 2017 242X and the new one is night and day quieter.

If you look on amazon, they make a roller specific for our boats.

Maybe bc I added a bunch of insulation to my old boat. It was quiet. When I pulled the boat out of the water there was a lot of water draining out. Found the clean out plug area full of water. Maybe I didn’t have them locked all the way? I’m not use to the new turn lock system.

Have to disagree about the noise - my 2016 242 is way quieter than the ar230 i rented a few years ago. water in the clean out plugs - that’s normal. Trust me - you will know if the plugs weren’t in - they would have blown out and boat wouldn’t perform right

The op said he did a bunch of sound proofing to his old boat so I can see where it may be quieter.

I do love the sound of the new motors and no impeller noise. The 230 has more cubbie holes to store stuff too. I do LOVE the steering of the 240. No need for cobra fins. New sound system and it will be perfect.
