I bought a '22 275SD last year..... that I still haven't got it in the water because of Hurricane Ian. While checking it out and running the engines yesterday before I store it while we are gone on a 3-month RV trip to Alaska, I spotted a drain plug that is installed forward of the bilge.
The manual doesn't mention anything about it but I'm assuming this is the drain from the ski locker to the bilge. My old '14 SX192 had a drain plug for the ski locker but it was actually located inside the ski locker.
I just wanted to confirm with someone else that this drain plug is for the ski locker and the plug should be out. I know it wouldn't be for the anchor locker since it has it's own drain out the bow. If it is for the ski locker, I don't know why it wouldn't have been installed in the ski locker for easy access..... unless there are some other areas in the boat that are draining into the bilge through that port as well.... but then again why would you even have a drain plug and not just an open drain?
Anyway.... not sure why they screwed it in at the factory but it is very difficult to reach in the 275SD because of the split engine compartment. I'll probably need to get a very long pair of need-nose pliers to try and reach it and keep turning it until it comes out.
Amy thoughts?
