After-market air filter suggestion for 1.8L HO engines?

The Yamaha OEM filter is $150... crazy. And I need two! Has anyone found a decent aftermarket alternative?

Riva makes a Filter that is washable/reusable. I bought mine through JetBoatPilot. A little cheaper than OEM but......

How did you damage your other two? Better yet, how did they get dirty? Running cat tails?

This was a tight fit but seems to work fine. Much larger surface area than OEM.

Well they have several years and 166 hours on them. How long do people usually run them?

They rarely get dirty, some get oil stains from over filling engine oil. But its such a dirt free environment they hardly get dirty. Seen some with 300 hours and still clean

It went against every grain in my body to not replace mine as well. But I open them up, inspect and put them back on a regular basis. But as stated, it's a very clean environment, unless one overfills oil.

Blow them out and call it a day. Be happy you didn't have to buy those over priced filters. I think that is why they are so expensive, they just don't sell that many.

That was my exact thought on why so pricey as well
