Aftermarket Air Filter

Do people purchase the after market K&N style filter for our boats? With shipping its nearly $130 and I'm not sure if its worth that kind of cash?

OEM would probably be as much or more. With a 2015 boat I wouldn't worry about an air filter for years or unless you suspect an issue.

If you worry about performance, temporarily disconnect the filter, run without it. No gain, no need for new filter.

The nice part about going aftermarket is that they are cleanable and reusable but they are not as apt to get oil on them like they were in the mr 1 (998 and 1,052 cc) engines. If your stock filters are fine I wouldn't replace them but if you are going to replace them it can't hurt to Go aftermarket.

Thanks for the input. I just normally replace all my air filters in all our vehicles with K&N, but since the boat gets quite a bit less usage compared to our cars, I wasn't sure if the extra cash was worth it.
