Air Intake

Hey be sure to check the bolt for your air intake and air filter. The air intake on my 2014 Scarab 195 HO came loose and bolt backed out of support. The hose and filter fell to the side and the wires connected to it chafed and fried. Notice the spring.....not sure if this is a sensor or what but it made for a bad day. I spliced the wires back together but she will only got 6000 rpms. We think it’s in a safe mode but taking her in to get checked out.

That thing with a spring is part # 0460989 Vent Valve Assembly Assembly (includes 22, 23, 24). Models WITH catalyst .

I always check the air filter bolt, I even put Loctite on it after having to constantly tighten it. Didn't know that could happen though, sorry man.

Will do from now on....It had some Loctite on it but apparently it was old enough to let loose. I put her in the water Saturday and she only goes 6000 RPM at full throttle. Either in a safe mode or something it not running right. She was due for maintenance anyway so it won't be a wasted trip to the shop.

Something isn't right there. That doesn't seem like full safe mode, but does sound like the computer could be limiting something. You definitely need to bring it in, could be something to do with a sensor or messed up connection that got messed up when you had your issue.
