Alabama weather is cramping my style....

@NSpradley I hear you! It has been raining here in Michigan almost everyday for couple weeks, but almost always on a possible boating day. We finally got out on Saturday. I am surrounded by water everywhere and the Great Lakes and I can't seem to get out much when we have free time.

Two weeks ago it was nice here, but I wasn't feeling well. I have been on the boat a fair amount this year but it really seems to rain most weekends. I am taking off work next week though just to work in my yard and find time for some boating!

Hey neighbor! You and I experience the exact same pain with Alabama weather, probably within minutes of each other. Of course, my current boat is in the shop right now, so I couldn't go out even if the weather was perfect.

You go to the river or the lake? Where is your boat in the shop?

is it a thunderstorm type of rain? That's what we have in florida, it sucks but if there is no lightning, I would definitely go boating, rain wont stop me.

There have been pretty strong thunderstorms at times. I will boat if there is a chance of a passing storm, but it has been some all day rains too.

I tried to ride storm one time, it freaks me out every time lightning hits and you cant see anything lol.

Hey gang, I'm in the Eastern Shores and my Yammy is dry docked at Barber Marina, right across from Orange Beach. Agreed! Weather has been absolutely annoying! I think it's almost 14 inches over last year alone!

According to the NWS here in the Tuscaloosa area we have 44 inches of rain YTD and that is 13 inches above normal for this time of year.

It's raining all the time in NYC and surrounding areas. I went to the poconos this past weekend to camp and bike. There was a lot of rain and by the time I left the entire campsite was like walking in 0.5" of standing water. I'm hoping that August will be the driest month on record lol

I'm thinking September to November is gonna be best for us Southern folk. Not dry, but way less traffic and hopefully rain will let up by then! ;-)

We have a slip at Eagle Cove on the river, just above Holt Lock & Dam. The guys at Hide-A-Way Harbor are working on it. It's a '96 Harris pontoon with - get this - a Mercruiser 3.0 I/O. It needs a new outdrive. As soon as they get it fixed, I'm selling it and putting in the deposit for a 252 SD. We're moving to the beach in a couple of years, so the new boat will be our Flora-Bama and Tacky Jacks transportation.

Yeah, but then you get into the most important season. We've got a Natty to defend up here!

Cincinnati is not much better. Had some good weekends but it rains like hell during the week. Then the lakes are full of debris and trees, not worth going and dodging all that crap!

I have only been on the river in my boat once and there was debris all in the water. I prefer the lake because I live 5 minutes from it. Lots of my friends that live in the Brookwood/Vance area boat on the river.

The weather has sucked here in northwest Florida aswell

There's always crap to watch out for in the river, especially after a good rain. But I like pulling up to Rocky Branch or Red Point and hanging out. It's always a good time. I grew up in Vance, before MBUSI moved in.
