It's listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders

And when you get a copy of the DSM III scroll down a bit to 'Upgraditis". This affliction is associated with Jetboat ownership.

The APA made this classification during its annual board of directors meeting in Chicago. The disorder is defined as the obsessive compulsive desire to upgrade one’s jetboat and post them on this site as a way to make up for the lack of boating time and to fill a gap in the on and off-season.

APA said there are three levels of the disorder:

  • Borderline upgraditis : taking photos of one’s upgrades at least three times a day but not posting them on social media
  • Acute upgraditis: taking photos of one’s upgrades at least three times a day and posting each of the photos on Jetboaters.net
  • Chronic upgraditis: Uncontrollable urge to take photos of one’s upgrades round the clock and posting the photos on Jetboaters.net more than six times a day:eek:
