Totally new to not and audio components. New to me 2009 Ar 230 and picked up an amp and tower speakers.
Looking to see where to tap for power. Do I have to run all the way to the Battery?

Most of us run 4 gauge or larger back to the battery. That’s your best bet because you’ll probably upgrade shortly. Ask me how I know... ?

Thanks, any idea how long of a run it is to get from the battery to the helm area?

I used 25’ of 4 gauge Knukonceptz wire. You can go from the helm around the starboard side and in front of the motors or from the helm into the top of the ski locker and into the head compartment and back. Some people remove the fuel hatch and go that route but that is an enormous pain in the ass to remove because the bolts break and need to be drilled out.

25’ left me with about 2-3’ of slack by the way.
Thanks, guess it’s off the the shop again tomorrow for more supplies. Had picked up an install kit but it’s only 17 feet.

Yeah that’s your best bet. It’s a lot cheaper than two days’ labor fighting with the fuel hatch to use a shorter run.

Well amp, sub and tower speakers installed and working on the tuning now... that being said any advise on a constant low amp power to keep memory in head unit?
