I have a 2017 Yamaha 242S Limited. I have about 150 feet of Anchor rope for some of the deeper spots on the lake. But there are some islands that I want to anchor at - maybe 6 - 10 feet of water. Anyone have an idea for an easy to use Anchor lock to limit the amount of rope?

I keep a stainless D-ring in the anchor locker & tie a figure 8 knot in the anchor line at the desired depth and secure it to a cleat with the d-ring. The figure 8 knot is fairly easy to untie. Maybe some of the knot experts have a better knot to use but this has worked well for me

OK, thanks. I was thinking of using one of the Bow cleats. But I was concerned that since the cleats are off to the side of the Boat, that it would sway one side or the other? But, maybe not a big deal if it does as long as it holds the Boat.

It is a little off-center but it doesn't affect anything. The main reason I use the d-ring is because the cleats on the 19' are kinda chintzy & it's hard to get a proper tie off directly on the cleat. If the off-center position is your only concern, worry not.
