I bought these not long ago and used them over the 4th of July weekend. I wanted to report that they work really well. When you pull up in 3 to 5 feet of water and don't want to drag the ole heavy anchor out and shore spike these are quick and easy. They twist into the sand and hold really well (it was choppy the day we used them). Not a bad investment for $99. I also use this so there is some give and it worked very well: http://www.amazon.com/Greenfield-SNS-B-Stretch-Slide-Rafting/dp/B0015G7P1U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405617483&sr=8-1&keywords=dock stretch line

I like the concept but the product seems expensive for two $13 Plastic Dock Augers and $10 of PVC.
I guess you could get these if you wanted aluminum, but then you are talking $250 a piece. http://sandsharkanchor.com/

It was worth it to me not have to pull my heavy box anchor out just to beach for an hour or so. We will usually come in and play on the beach for an hour or so and then go tube and come back and do it again. Messing with that box anchor every time got to be a bit much.

I like the idea and would be excited to use such a product if I lived in an area that was suitable.

My criticism is that the component cost to make a single pair is around $35. The components appear to be 2 dock augers plus a stick of 2" PVC and two tees. The bolts come with the dock augers. In a 6 pack the augers are less than $9 each. My guess is that the manufacturing cost of the product is less than $25.

It certainly is a better price than the SandShark!

Supply and demand I guess. Want to hear a kicker? I dropped one of my wakeboard tower knobs in the lake the other weekend and had to pay $50 from the dealer today to replace it. A simple little screw knob. LOL!!!

I just noticed these at our lake this year. Almost every pontoon I see anchored is using one. The only exception.. Everyone at our lake seemed to make their own out of PVC!

For the exact reason @HawkTX mentioned, this would be ideal for out situation too.
