This is probably a stupid question, but why are only the small posts on the battery used when connecting electronics?
 
This is probably a stupid question, but why are only the small posts on the battery used when connecting electronics?
The smaller post is threaded which allows stacking of ring connectors for more devices which are typically lower current. The large posts are made for connecting clamp connectors for the main battery cables to get lots of current to the starter motors in vehicles.
