I decided to go to the boat show in Edison NJ. It is not on the water and takes place in the expo center. Most brands were represented and I saw everything under one roof. I’m not looking for a new boat but just wanted to see what is going on. Not bad when they sell beer and you can walk around the event with drinks.... good strategy on their part because i am sure it helps sales

Yamaha’s look good and are still some of the more value priced boats. The Scarabs are more money but they are incredible as far as the finishing touches. It was obvious that LEDs were in all boats so it’s surprising they don’t come on the Yamahas. Next year I would hope Yamaha adds this just to stay up with the market

I see that $80k can get you into many boats and there are a lot of nice options. The fit and finish on some of the larger boats is awesome. Plush interiors and very nice accessory touches like electronics, sinks, counters, refrig, etc.

Good show and I was happy to go boating today :D

Yea the beer is a good tactic lol. Last year we went to the boat show not intending to buy. Ned tithing I know wife doesn't bat an eye when talking down payments so I tossed them my debit card lol. They said it will take a few mins so I told the wife lets go find the closet beer asap. Needed to down me a few to calm my nerves lol. I always try to get to the boat shows each year even if I'm not shopping. I just love crawling around and checking out all the new boats each year. Gotta say if I were into lake fishing I would be taking a hard look at those Vexus boats. They seem next level compared to others even the big brand fishing boats.

It's good to hear Scarabs are being built nicer these days. When we looked at them in 2017 the quality wasn't there compared to Yamaha especially on the interior cushions. Kudos to them for keeping their boats upgraded to at least make them feel fresh and new each year vs the slow drip approach others use.
