I would suggest getting there early and leaving early like 2 or 3:00 at the latest. Safety first. Of course keep an eye out for dark clouds. Make sure you have 2 Danforth (with 6 feet of chain) type anchors to keep your boat in one spot. Otherwise enjoy...

Another alternative is the St. Pete powerboat Grand Prix (if you're into that). I went one year and it was fun. Good luck!!!

I was at the Memorial day event which had roughly 14,000. I most likely will not be going out to this one due to red tide. The water looks and smells horrible near there right now. I will keep south near Sanibel that's where the red tide clears up.
