I am new to this forum and would like to have your advice as i am buying a new boat

Owner stated the boat had not been used for over a year and in total the engines have 60 hours on them.

The engine has no cover on it and the owner (first owner) confirmed that this is how he bought the boat when it was brand new, is this normal engine 242.mp4 ?
by cover i am referring to the attached image engine.png (this is NOT for the boat but a picture i found online)

do these yamaha 242S Limited 2016 boats really come Stock without engine covers?? I checked these covers online and they go for less than 100$ each, not a big deal however its quite odd seeing these engines like that.

from the video link above, are there any comments you have about the engine from your first impression, some of you out there are super pros and must have loads of experience after a quick glance on the engine!

the following back pillow is missing (pic attached) , any idea what this p/n is and where i can find a replacement online?

same goes for the Front filler pillow is missing (pic attached), ?

Any idea if the Connext X screen has any maps and GPS options?

Thanks a million guys!

From the video , does the engine look ok? from first view does anything else look missing. thanks again for your help :) !

How do they run..? Biggest concern with the boat sitting is deposits due to old gas. Any indication of proper storage? Pull all the plugs and check for corrosion.

A yamaha mechanic can check the hrs in the ECU and check fir fault codes.

Inspect the trailer as well, especially condition of the brakes.

when I bought my boat last year, it was missing all the same items. Except the engine covers. They seem to be cushions that nobody really uses so they must get stored and lost I’m guessing. Ive seen those engine covers brand new for like $40. The one thing I would recommend to check would be the oil. Just make sure it looks like normal oil and not milkshake looking, which would indicate water in it. Not saying it’s a common thing, it’s just these are pricey engines and you want to be sure. They are awesome engines though. Good luck!

Agree, they all come with them. No harm to the engines not having them though, its mostly cosmetic and to protect from water splashing on top of engine leaving possible salt deposits. I remove mine when cleaning after each ride on both the ski and boat. Maybe he removed them and lost them or cracked one leaning on top of it etc..

In this Pic you can see the cover attachment grommets/points in Red and the screw in post in blue.

It would been nice to have sound in that video to hear the engines, but I would definitely recommend having someone check the hours on the ECU and also do a compression test. We bought our 2014 last year with 115 hours and put a TON on them last year (almost every weekend.)

Personally, I don't understand how people have boats that are 4-5 years old with 60 hours. You're either not using it at all in which case, I would trust them very little about anything to do with the condition of the boat, or they live VERY close to wherever they're boating to. You should be able to discover which they are through a quick conversation.
