So this weekend after sitting out on a cover, when we were leaving the check port engine light came on. Everything seems to be running fine. I have power and rpm on both engines, seeing constant water flowing out the pee holes, but check port engine keeps beeping. After I loaded the boat up and started engine to push all of the water out, the check engine light did not come on then. Anyone know why this happened? Nothing seems to be sucked in intake grates.

Kinda scary as I had to cut 2 ropes from a friends Yamaha after day of surfing on his 242x. Never seen it where both engines sucked up the rope so has been thinking about safety and engine maintenance to keep things optimal.

No message on the screen?

The definitive way to tell is to get the YDS and hook it up to read the codes. My uneducated guess would be you were a little overheated. This happened to me once in very shallow water. When people got on the boat, it pushed the boat down into the mud and blocked one of the intake grates. Maybe something similar happened?

Yes the connext screen read "check port engine"

My situation does sound like yours tho. We were in muddy shallow water anchored out with other boats and there were people going in and out of the boat all day. Just not sure if the intake grates got clogged or not. The message started right when I got the engines started and started to go in no wake mode. Just weird it would overheat without even warming up? After few minutes, I had full throttle response on both engines but the connext was still putting code out. Funny thing is when I took it out of the water and started it briefly to blow the water out, no "check port engine" on the connext screen.

I don't know your model but check engine could be a variety of things. Low voltage on battery will cause it for example.

It's an 2016 AR 240. I thought usually low voltage it will state that. I believe my start batteries were reading 12.6v at the time. Not positive now tho.
