Cleaning and deodorizing life jackets

My kids life jackets stink. I air them out every time. But I’m guessing dried lake water stinks no matter what. What are you all using to clean and deodorize life jackets? The jackets are neoprene.

I was thinking of having a plastic tub of water and baking soda next to the garage when we return let them soak and rinse..

I keep a 5 gallon fresh water container in the back of my SUV. When we load up on the trailer, I rinse of all the life jackets and then thread them through a rope which i Tie in the boat, that way the air going to down the freeway dries them out nicely and the don't smell.

I rinse off each time with fresh water also. Not sure you can get the baked in smell out, but maybe someone will have a good solution. In the meantime, febreeze perhaps?

I periodically soak our life jackets in Dawn dishwashing detergent and this seems to help.
