I recently purchased what I believed to be a deluxe mooring cover for my 212x from my local Yamaha dealer who has been very good to me in the past. I see lots of pictures online and within this forum of covers that have the cleat covers as well. I am wondering if these are added after the fact or generally come with the deluxe factory covers. I am also wondering if they serve more than a cosmetic purpose. Thanks!

They are a feature of the premium deluxe cover.
