Correct starting procedure for a 1994 jet 90 on my sea ray ryder

New to jet boats.
What is the correct starting procedure for this motor. (Jet 90) Anything to be aware of when starting tips etc on this motor?
And this is in the rear engine compartment there looks like a hose goes on each end, maybe air. Any one have an idea what it is for?
