Crankin battery for 2014 242 ls

Batteries wete both toast..house batter came back crankin did not..any suggestions on crankin battery?

In my experience there is no need for a starting battery with these boats. I personally have 2 deep cycle batteries and they are serving my needs just fine. Anyway, just my 2 cents, others may have additional input.

Just get a group 24 battery @Ronald . These motors don't need much like stated above and you don't have a huge system that will drain batteries.

Ok cool. Tx all..found a few for 100 bucks..normally it sits on a Trickle charger but dealer had it a while and then i had it for 3 weeks..so 60 days no trickle equals dead..the house battery seems to have come back but other died

I got group 34(slightly shorter but same foot print as group 24) AGM batteries from Sams. $119 a piece, it was the best price I seen.

Found out they were heavy as crap and had to spend another $100 on dual bank on board chargers lol

AGM is the way to go. They last longer in terms of number of cycles. Last longer in terms of number of years. Are not as prone damage when left depleted. No electrolyte to spill or refill. Accept more charge from the stators faster and only cost a fraction more when found at a wharehouse club. I will never buy anything else for anything I own.

What is the biggest AGM you can buy? I run 2 group 31 regular batteries and a group 24 right now.

Don't know for sure what the biggest is but group 31 might be the biggest of the more common sizes. I think you are looking at betteries meant for specialty applications if you go bigger which means speciality prices. I do think there are some true deep cycles meant for solar power storage or golf carts that may be bigger but those are not sealed. If you want the most amps per pound and sealed you could go with lithium ion but that would be prohibitively expensive unless your name is Elon Musk.
