Hi guys i sold my boat already but will be looking for another yamaha soon or next year. Im a new boater so be nice. my previous boat (ar192) i believe i damaged it and caused couple of cracks by pulling on the anchor rope. I dont want to make the same mistake again in future so was this just gel cracks or did i really crack the boats fiberglass

So this wasn't a big deal or anything to worry about ?

Is that a handle in the photo? I am not sure I fully understand what happened here, but if you were tying your anchor to the handle, I could see that helping to cause stress cracks, however I am guessing this would have happened any way because the handle was probably not installed properly to begin with. The cleats or bow eye is where you want to tie your anchor to. The bow eye is ideal because it will center the boat on the anchor and keep the bow pointed into the waves, but many don't like to hang over the front to tie it.

The rope was tied to the front cleat but i untied it and was pulling the anchor up as the rope leaned against the boat and handle was just there.

So the pull up pressure and force for the anchor rope caused the damage. I know in future to pull the anchor rope and keep it away from the boat but it was a lil hard to pull the anchor so i was basically standing in the bow carpet area and pulling on it with both hands. Once the anchor was loosened up i made sure to pull the anchor slowly so the anchor never touched the boat. The rope did the damage.

But just in case this happens again was this big damage?
