I know this is not a factory trailer but it looks odd to me to have that much boat / bunks hanging past the frame of the trailer. Maybe it is normal but it looks odd to me. 20190805_115904.jpg20190805_115709.jpg

[USERGROUP=3]@Administrative[/USERGROUP] , should this be moved to the trailer , tow rigs section? I wasn't sure where to put it. Thanks!

Mine is similar, with the mfi trailer, but mine has carpet above the wheel fenders, as it can scrape there while loading and unloading. It looks really close.

I remember reading years ago that you shouldn't have the transom overhang the back of the bunks, as that could lead to a "cupped" hull, where the fiberglass would slowly creep over time and lead to the rear of the hull mishapen from weight.

First, I think this is more relevant to older constructed boats that weren't as stiff. Surely there's been advancements in manufacturing in the last 15 years since I read that. Secondly, with a jet propulsion system, there is no major weight over the transom like an I/O, or outboard setup, so wouldn't that be a non-issue for a jet boat?

Anyone else remember reading/hearing that years ago? Is it still a thing?

@JC6275 your trailer seems to be set up for an outboard. The bunks will handle the weight, but I bet money your tongue is light. My trailer has a very similar architecture like yours. See video at 7:41.

I will put on some pictures in a bit, but what I did with mine is that I moved the rear axle infront of the front axles. It helpf with the weight distribution and moves the entire boat closer to the truck without messing with the tongue weight. Although you still need to adjust the tongue weight.
It might sound like a big job, but it took about 2 hours to move that axle from the back to the front and the boat was load don the trailer. It is just 6 or 8 bolts you need to unscrew. I think 19mm.

@Betik , thank you for the info. It is not my boat or trailer, it's one I am looking at to purchase. I noticed it when I saw how far back it sat on the trailer. I was thinking the tongue weight has to be very light. Good to know the axle can be moved if needed. Tha is again!!

This how mine is set up

Take a quick look underneath and as long as it has a channel like the attached photo you are good. Those btw are the bolts that are holding the axle in place
