The boat will have set up for almost two full seasons after I bought her and got the new motor installed. Fuel is treated according to previous owner, but I was going to siphon some of it an replace/split it with new fuel if all looked OK. Does anyone know if the tank has a anti roller device in the filler neck like cars? I tried to run a hose down it without much success getting it all the way into the fuel tank.

Thanks

Your generation of the boat doesn't have any anti-roller device in the fuel line.

If you look at the top right corner of the fuel tank you will see the fuel filler hose (about 2" hose) connect to the tank. The difficulty with siphoning fuel through the fuel filler hose is the 60 degree turn in a short distance at the top of the tank. That is why some people remove the tank hatch and siphon fuel by removing the fuel sending unit.

I thought it was the last turn giving me trouble. I was hoping not to have to pull the deck lid to do it. Maybe just patience and trying to roll/twist the hose thru the opening will get me there. (or maybe a smaller hose will help turn the radius easier. thanks for the picture

thanks. It will be on list next weekend to try and get done. I will see if I have any luck on my side.

Got it to work this morning. 3/8" hose about 7 feet fed into the fill cap. Yeah 40 plus gallon out and recycled in the cars. Time for fresh gas in the boat.
Fuel, combustible vapors, and an electric pump what could go wrong? Plenty of air circulation
