How do I get into the engine compartment to change a broke door latch when it won’t open?

Changed the engine compartment latch and now will not open at all!
How do I get into the engine compartment to take the latch back off?
Nuts are on the inside of door.

Hmm...
The 2008 230 lock assembly appears the same as the new boats
here is the 2008 (part 56):

And 2016 (AR240, part 29):

Somehow getting those bolts out (or making them loose) should do the trick?

I will get a closer look at it this morning. Looked to me as all the rear seats bolted down from inside the engine compartment as well.
Thank you for the input!

I wonder if you sit or lightly bounce on the rear seat to compress the weather stripping while you try to release the latch would work. Sounds like it may just be too tight binding the latch mechanism.
