Im guessing and hoping this is a bad safety pressure switch .. i was thinking of 4200 it closed down but my luck one of my kids will start and engine while im cleaning out my port one day and lose a paw .. any ideas for a fix ? thanks

Sounds like it’s the safety switch like you said. If there isn’t any adjustment in the mount you can glue a nickel (or any kind of shim) on the bottom of the hatch where it hits the switch.

excellent idea ... Thanks ... but if i needed to replace the switch i cant find it in the parts diagram ... would you happen to know if its easy to replace or get the part ? Thanks

I know by pass is an option but not a good idea

*btw the preferred hack to bypass safety switches is to cut the wires and twist them together. Tape/wire nuts optional.

Looks like part 22 in this diagram.

But it sounds like yours just isn’t making good contact with the hatch.

Did exactly this and it worked like a charm ! THANK YOU ! =)

I’m with sunbyrned on this. The switches are adjustable. Sounds like that’s all you need to do raise it up a little to make solid contact.
