Fake seadek and water intrusion over the back into the clean out ports

I have two questions. Does anyone know if the fake seadek on the 2013 242LS has the nonskid surface under it. The fake stuff has little black granules coming off when water gets on it. Its driving me nuts. Also, I've noticed that after a day on the water the clean out ports are full of water. I have only had the boat since June and when I first bought it the manholes would not come out by hand Brought it home and had to get creative ( 2x4, rope, and plywood to lift against) to get them out. Soaked them for several days in kroll and finally got them out. They were full of sand and mud and had to emery cloth the mating surfaces. Anyone sealed the hatch to prevent this?

It's normal to get water on top of the cleanout plugs, especially if boating all day. Water can rush onto the swim platform and down under the cleanout hatch where it dumps on the plugs. Also the cleanout tray is not sealed which can dump some water into your bilge. You can seal that since the factory does a poor job of it.

Not sure what you mean by fake seadek but I have seen others complain of fuzz from the hydroturf boats. I don't think they started putting seadek on the 242 Limited boats until 2015 but could be wrong on that.

Also to help with the clean-out plugs sticking, apply to some nice grease to it. The rubber seems to stiffen up which makes it difficult to remove when it gets dirty and grimy. I use Coconut oil around it and it works wonders. In my world Coconut oil does everything.

I sometimes get water water on top of the clean out plug, sometimes not. Sometimes it's just a little bit, sometimes it's full to the tray. I don't think it's necessarily coming from over the back deck usually. The upper swim deck stays pretty dry until the kids( and some grown ups) start jumping in and climbing back out. I have a feeling it's most likely a little bit of leakage past the seal on the plug, how much depends on conditions/boating activities/ how well it's seated that particular day. I'm not really concerned with it, when it's full it's just another fun thing to confuse non jet drive boaters with while packing up at the launch. After running the motor for a few seconds to evacuate water in the exhaust I'll pull the plug and get some looks when a gallon of water spills on the ground.

I stick with the 303 protectant, applied liberally, I think it conditions the seals nicely. But probably not as good as coconut oil...

Yea also meant to say I don't think the plugs are fully sealed or can't create a "water tight" seal 100% of the time with the jet pumps blasting water by. Sometimes mine have little to no water and sometimes I have some, even with similar boating conditions. Sometimes swim platform is dry and other times not if I slam off the throttle especially if doing water sports/load. I don't worry with it as it's never an issue with lots of water. Only time I had a ton of water in the man hole was when my cleanout plug wasn't seated fully and I had a water coming up from the jet.

Sorry. Didn't know what the name of the turf was. Yes the hydro turf is coming off in ground pepper size black specks. Does the deck/hatch have non-skid surface under it if I decide to remove the hydro turf from the surface?

Yes, water can blow by the plugs. I get no water on top of the plugs until I start running the boat harder. In general, I don’t get water splashing over the rear deck since we use the boat for cruising around.

water on top of your clean out plugs is no big deal, it sounds like the previous owner never removed them,

It's good practice to leave the cleanout plugs out when not using the boat,

If you don't have EZ locks or some type of plug lock it's cheap insurance vs. having a blowout or loosing thrust at an important time.
