One thing I really dread is to drill unnecessary holes into my boat. Here is something I did on my last boat (2014 Tahoe). I pulled the cup holder out on the dash and mounted my FF in the cup holder hole. I took 1/4in plywood and cut a circle, drilled a 1in hole in the wood and covered it some i/o carpet. Mounted a Ram mount and used a 1/8in metal strap underneath and drove 2 screws thru the mount, wood and metal strap. Cut the carpet over the 1in hole and ran the wires thru that. Came out real clean! If i decide to install a 4in lowrance on my new boat, ill be mounting in the cup holder on the helm.5-10-15 phone pics 420.JPG 5-10-15 phone pics 457.JPG 5-10-15 phone pics 458.JPG 5-10-15 phone pics 460.JPG 5-10-15 phone pics 456.JPG 5-10-15 phone pics 467.JPG

Nice. I did something similar to mount my fish finder. I used the hole from the original depth gauge and put a round wooden "hockey puck" behind it. I screwed the mounting plate of the fish finder to it with the console in between the sandwich. It's held up for 4 seasons.

I think my humminbird fits perfectly here and I still have my cup holder. image.jpg
