If I paid off the lien on someone’s boat $20,000 to the dealer and then the difference of $6000 in cash to the seller. Do I need to claim the $26000 when I transfer the title and register the boat or did I pay any of the sales tax of the original purchase when paying off the lien?
Thanks!

Why would you claim cash transaction - just state 20K purchase price, unless you want to pay more tax [flag]
