Hello everyone.

Began flushing the engine than a couple of minutes later panel said engine overheating.

Water is running but did notice none coming out the side

Am i missing something

since you only have one engine that eliminates the easiest mistake most of us make by turning on the engine the hose is not connected to,:banghead:

Have you flushed it at home before without issue?

It's common not to get water out the pee holes if there is not enough water pressure, you should still get water coming out near the exhaust though and it should be sufficient to cool the engine,

Do you have a YDS, if not it's worth it to buy one to see what's happening with your engine,

I would try it again and watch it closely for water out the exhaust area,

remember, engine on, water on, then water off, then engine off,

Thank you.

I did connect the hose and.pressure is good. Strange that i dont see water coming out. Boat is only 1 week old.

Thinking the line may be clogged. The cap where you connect the hose was loose when i picked up the boat. Sounds crazy but maybe something crawled in.

Taking the boat back to the dealer tomorrow

Have you watched the video in the FAQ about how the cooling water flows, if not it's worthwhile just to understand your boat better,

If you take the boat to the dealer you could be without it for a week or two, If you have time it may be worth an hour of trouble shooting,

If it wasn't overheating while out on the water and you KNOW the hose was turned on the only place there could be a problem is from the flush connection to the Y-fitting in the engine compartment (this is probably a red hose but not sure on the new boats), this is where the video will help you understand,

You could undo the flush hose from the y-fitting to make sure there's water flowing to that point, if there is water flowing then it might be worth a trip to the dealer for further diagnoses, but if that hose is blocked from something crawling in (I doubt it) you could run some weedeater line or compressed air to blow it out,

Before taking it to a dealer, try connecting to a different hose, you may have water flow but not enough pressure coming out of your hose.
I run into this whenever I used the water hoses at some marinas to flush the engine.

I connected it today and did see some water coming out the back. Not much but some. Still going back because I keep getting a Engine Connection Error. My RPM gauge goes nuts.

Did you get this figured out? I have an FSH 190 with 6 hours. Bought it towards the end of last season. Started it up at the marina and the check engine indicator blared continuously. I've been looking for reasons why this could be happening. Just curious as to what you found out about yours.

It looks like the "Engine Comm Error" Was due to not switching the middle battery knob to on position.

My overheating was due to the Red hose being kinked. It was installed incorrectly from factory. Instead of it being nicely placed around a control box behind the engine it was place behind the box. Called Yamaha but they said if it was fixed there is not anything else they can do. But what about the 2 weeks I could now use my new boat. Problem can always and will happen but now because of some idiot who doesn't know how to put a boat together.
