Anyone know how to do this properly?

You mean on the hose? There should be a hose connector under the hood. If in salt water, flushing is important. If trying to do it for anti-freeze, don't bother. The merc 240 is self draining.

But that being said, look for a hose fitting under your hood.

Good luck

Thanks - after keeping on a lake for years in nj I wil now be keeping on a lift in Cape Coral Fl. There is no owners manual to be found for this thing. I gather I start motor then turn on hose and flush for a few Min.

Thanks, this is great!

Thank you again, Found it and successfully flushed after first contact with salt water, today!
