When FG said "stupid is as stupid does" he was talking about me today. Just hooked up the battery backwards. Somehow the red post cap got switched to the negative side over the winter and I blindly hooked it up based on color. Stupid stupid. Now I have a no engine turn over situation. I will have to see what I wrecked. Anyone done this and lived? Cam.

Check the fuses under the cap of the ecm.

Yeah that was it. Blew both 20A ECU fuses that are located in the round fuse holder above the engines, the stereo fuse and perfect pass fuse. Nice that there is a spare in there. They area the automotive mini-fuse type. Back up and running already (in the driveway). Thanks. Cam.

I did the same thing last year. Changed out the same fuses you did and was back in working order quickly. Don't feel too bad, it's easy to do when you are excited about getting ready for boating season. @KXCam22

You are not alone in this. One year I installed the battery 180 degrees. Same outcome!

Every year I try not to forget something stupid the first couple days prepping the boat, or first time in the water. I usually forget something.

Ok I always forget something.

I almost did this, this spring. I had it hooked up, but the power switch was off, and i realized the wires didn't seem right from year before. Whew....close one.

I remember the call.

If it makes you feel any better, I launched without my transom drain plug in last Sunday, and went without my clean out plugs yesterday!
