I’ve all but convinced myself that my speakers are going to be JL M6-650X series (probably with LED). Someone tell me I’m nuts and I should save the money. Granted the most I can save is probably $400/pair on a 60k boat so maybe it’s a YOLO situation. Does quality upgrades make a difference in the secondary market?

Other upgrades so far:
Garmin Force TM powered by 36V LiFePO bats
Garmin 8612XSV with GT-56UHD transducer
Kicker 46KMC5

If you only get the speakers, you're wasting your money - you need a good amp to drive them properly and they'll sound great. If your budget is limited, step down to the M3 series and an amp, or consider other options like Kicker speakers and amp.

I just filled up a cart with all the best JL Audio on Crutchfield. Almost $4k. Maybe I’ll wait for next season. The kicker head unit made a pretty significant difference so far.
