Do the models that have the nicer Connext screens and integration show you an actual/estimate real time burn rate of GPH while underway. I was thinking about this yesterdy. I usually just try to gauge RPM's and stay close to the optimum zones. I burned through a full tank yesterday and finally went in, not a big lake, at 5%.

Are there add-on electronics or gauges that would do something similar in real time while under power?

My 2017 212 Limited S has an instant fuel burn rate screen on the trip menu. This was our last trip. Notice the instant fuel burn rate is at zero because engines were off when picture was taken. This was a trip on the Tennessee River, Cypress Bay in Kentucky to Pickwick State Park Marina and back. With cruise set at 28-29mph the instant fuel burn rate showed anywhere from 12.5 to 13.5 gph.

Levi is right, there is a Trip Info screen with mileage travelled, fuel consumed, and real time GPH while the engines are running. I posted a pic before of my info at 12 hours just before my first oil change:

12 hours.jpg

I've used the GPH and speed to calculate a best fuel rating of 3.1 mpg - this is around 5300 rpm and 27-28 mph with my 1.8l engines. Best I've seen is 9.0 gph at 28 which works out to the 3.1 rating and that's with typical water conditions, not glass. I might be able to tweak it a bit better with a tailwind and smoother conditions, but I'm not looking for mileage. If I wanted mileage I would have bought something much more efficient and much less fun.
?
So now if we're going somewhere cruising, I now target 5300 rpm and hold it steady. Of course, chasing a few boats around on the lake yesterday hitting 40-45mph and doing about 2.5mpg was still quite reasonable.

I'm not sure you could get something that would "talk" to the Yamaha network. I do know there are fuel meters you can install in the lines to measure real time consumption rates. Can't think of any offhand, but you could probably google them.

The short answer, yes. The connext on my 2020 242 Limited S E shows gph rate and mpg average. At 30-33 mph I'm burning 12.3 -12.9 gph. Best usage is at 30mph so far this summer.

So it is not displayed on my screen although less pretty than the higher end ones it indicates the Fuel flow should be displayed in the manual on my boat. It is not there. Interesting. Can anyone else with a newer AR210 or SX210 confirm or deny this?

There is a scroll bar on the right of the numbers - is it further down the list?
