Hello All, After reading about 100 posts i see i am not the only one that snapper off all the bolts when removing the fuel hatch cover. What i cant find is the size bolt i will need to replace the snapped bolts. Does anyone know what bolt i need to order for a 2015 242 limited s model boat?

I think the online parts diagrams at Babbitts.com or Partzilla.com will provide all the part numbers , pricing , and availability info ?

i replaced them all on my 232 this past winter. originals were some oddball #4 square head. replaced them all with these......remember to grease the threads before you install so they dont corrode or lock up on you.

great thanks. Did you need to retap the threads.

Yes i ran a tap in all the threads to clean them out. Yamaha molded a 1”dia solid alum rod into the glass around the whole perimeter of the hatch then they just drill and tap wherever they want the hole. Unfortunately you know what happens when you have stainless hardware combined with alum in a saltwater environment. The bolts corrode into the alum pretty quick without greased threads. Hopefully The ones that snapped off come out. I has a couple i had to cut the fiberglass and rod out then reglass some captive stainless nuts into place.

Did they convert from the regular latches to bolts in 2015? I have a 2014 242 LS and it's just regular anchor locker/ski locker type latches on my fuel hatch.

newer boats like yours have the latches. that probably came into effect when they went to the 24ft models. the 23ft models are bolts.
