I've read several post on the fuel gauge but not having any luck with mine. The boat is a 2010 SX240 with 67 hours. I tested the connection at the sending unit to make sure it is receiving power (it is). The gauge reads and only reads "Fuel Lvl". it was working fine till I had the problem with crab trap wrapping around one motor and having to limp back on one for over an hour.
I read the ground could be bad and the fuel gauge needs to be calibrated. If the ground was bad i would not be seeing power at the sending unit and i don't believe the sending unit needs to calibrated. Any thoughts.

Do you have the Yamaha Diagnostic Software, YDS? You may be able to get a code out of it.

If your fuel gauge is reading anything at all you have power and ground. Your problem is either calibration (the cheapest and easiest fix) or a defective sender.
