Garmin transducer install location AR240

Hello I was trying to install my transducer on my 2013 AR240 and was trying to figure out the best location

I installed mine in the same spot the OE depth finder was located. Used the same thru-hull fitting and just sealed around the cable and screws.

I don’t think I have an oe depth finder I looked

Do It give you any problems in that location

Nope. Works just fine.

Mounted mine to the flat part of the ride plate with a piece of starboard and a flush mount bracket

How does the side imaging work in that location? Does it see to the right amd past the keel?

I have a 2010 ar240 with no keel edge. And trying to figure out how to mount a tranducer

Only a very small percentage is blocked, which i can live with since i am not searching for lost ships full of gold.
My biggest concern was would it read at high speeds and it works flawless at any speed

You can install another transducer on the other side, each will scan that side. I had it done on my AR190 and it worked.

Doesn't bother me one bit. I dont use side scan much and when its on. I hardly look at the screen
