I lost my indoor storage for the winter.
So in preparing for outdoor winter storage I ordered a shipping cover from greatlakes skipper.

When I unfolded the cover it had a lot of scattered mildew damage.
The cover still looks like it will function and work OK.

Question: Others who have ordered shipping covers from great lakes skipper, is this common?IMG_20140828_185533_447.jpg

They did market them as used last I looked. Definitely want to spray that with some mold/mildew block before using it to store your boat or the whole thing will become a petri dish.

There was a little on mine as well, maybe 10% of what you show in your first pic and it was limited to a small patch the size of a basketball under the front of the cover. Not enough to make consider returning it. After using for a winter season or so other mildew started to develop, I spray it with bleach whenever I see it and carry on.

It was listed on ebay as "NEW out of box" for the condition.

I attempted to email greatlakesskipper direct but have had no answer.
So I sent an email through eBay requesting to exchange for an undamaged cover.

dan144k,
I pay $360 a winter to store mine in an unheated barn. Call me if you're interested in a contact number.

Thanks for the barn offer Jim
My friend with the barn called last weekend and said he found room for me.
I also figured out I could put it into my mother in-laws garage if I take the upper tower of.

Also great lakes skipper is being very professional, they inspected another cover (found it it god condition) and offer to do an exchange.
