Hey guys, installing all the new tower stuff, but want it to be clean. What is the best way to run wires into the boat? Looking for a grommet or something somehow.
Any way to run the wires through the base of one of the tower supports like Yamaha did with the first generation of 242 ls? The only visible wiring is a few inch segment between the top and bottom of the tower leg that the wiring runs through the base of. These wires are covered and pass through grommets.
Whoever installed my tower used the thru-hull setup like the one below. They didn't use a grommet on the tower, just a corrugated wire sleeve with electrical tape at the contact points.
if you need to remove the fittings or wiring harness from the tower or hull, its possible to use Neutrik fittings, they are robust for sure, just not water tight. If they are snapped or broken they can easily be replaced in minutes, there are some dust and water spray caps for the 4 pole connections on the male side, all the female sides offer rubber seals, these connectors are for the DIY guys on there
