Admitting that I'm anal. Third time on the water and I noted a nick in the "carbon fiber" wrap at the back of the boat. Somewhat hidden by the back cushion. Let it go or send back to dealer to fix?20180902_093653.jpg 20180902_093653.jpg

If the dealer is close by, why not try to see if they warranty it.
If it looks like a puncture they might not help out

Yup, I'd probably point it out, but bet in the end Yamaha might call it cosmetic

It looks like something snagged on it. Probably not a manufacturing defect. Honestly, you probably would have had to point it out before taking delivery, but doesn’t hurt to ask.

When I took delivery of boat I noticed a cut on side of bow filler cushion. Dealer was great about replacing. Although, I went without it for 2 or three weeks.
A year later, noticed cover on dash started to bubble in a small area. Claim was sent to Yamaha and denied. I figured the warranty was was from bow to stern, Yamaha stands behind its workmanship I was told. No, DENIED. Yamaha argued it was a BLEMISH and therefore not covered. I explained that boat was covered in a slip during season and fully garaged in winter. This was a defect in material. Claim was sent twice and denied twice. I suggest you put a claim in and take advantage of the Yamaha honeymoon period. The longer you wait I’m less optimistic it will be handled fairly.

I’d Take it by the dealer and start a claim. But I’d still use it in the mean time and wait for the off season for any repair. Personally, i wouldn’t put any of my $ into fixing it. If that material is fragile, you’re probably going to get more nicks in the future. In the meantime, I’d use a sharpie to color it black so it doesn’t stand out and catch your eye.
