Hello from South Central Texas

Just bought our first boat! 2019 Yamaha AR240. We bought our lake house in 2018 and jet ski's and finally got the boat. After going out with some neighbors on different boats we chose a jet boat. We never really drove a boat except test drives so we are very new at it. Hoping to learn about how to take care of the boat so it lasts a long time. Previous owner took excellent care, it still looks new. Our lift is being finished as I type this. The boat has been sitting in the water for a week hoping to raise it up tonight. Glad I stumbled across this forum!

Welcome and post pics! Seems as if you do the general yearly maintenance the engines and components will continue being very reliable! You can search for about anything on here and also go visit the FAQ section! One piece of advice, only go as fast as you want to hit a dock, lift, etc. Since our jet boats don’t have a complete “neutral” or true reverse it’s easy to misjudge. I’ve found in my much older jet boat the forward detent with no throttle is a great speed to approach the dock and trailer, I sometimes have to correct myself with reverse detent around a dock but as you learn you’ll realize how maneuverable these boats are!
