Looking to purchase a 2015 242 Limited S.

Here's the deal on the table, any thoughts?

63,500

Includes complete interior sea dek teak to match the rear.

Deluxe mooring cover and coast guard kit.

The dealer is giving me and installing a cradle at my lake house 1.5 hours away. Probably 2k value.

Any thoughts?

Is that after taxes? Out the door? Seams like a good deal.
SeaDek is about $600. The mooring cover is $450-$500
What's the cradle?

That is not with taxes. I didn't put it in there because different states have different rates. I shopped a cradle and they are about 1000 for an iron one and 1900 for an aluminum one. Installation in my area runs about 500 to install.

I hate to sound like an idiot, but what is this cradle?

the cradle is what the boat sits on in my boat house. Just like a trailer with no wheels hooked up to cables that lift it vertically out of the water.

Oh - a boat lift cradle. Why didn't you say that? :)
If he's tossing in the cradle, then that seems like a good deal to me.

I would agree. Sounds like a good deal on a 2015.

You're still getting a trailer with that price, right? Your prices for galvanized v. aluminum cradles seem about right for Texas. A lot of installers are backlogged this time of year so all the better if dealer can guarantee a completion date.

I just posted in another thread and would strongly recommend considering a snap cover if it's going to be kept on a covered lift (boathouse).

Good luck!

This does come with a trailer and it's a galvanized lift. You're exactly right on the installer thing, they are slammed! and good for them, with the drought they haven't had much biz. Love that the rain is bringing the economy back at that lake. Why do you recommend the snap cover? (while there is water in the lake it will be on the lift)

I made the trip to Gulf Shore Power Sports in Alabama and got my 242 limted s for just under 59,000 plus a coast guard kit, 5 year yes and 2.99 finance- With tax included they were over 7,000 dollar under Louisiana and east Texas dealers delivery price! Well worth a ride to go pick up . I also would like to know what a cradle is, I am truly interested to know !

Alabama is a long drive from Dallas. Unfortunately, I missed the incentive on the 5 year yes but can still get the 2.99. The cradle is what the boat sits on in the lift. In most cases in texas, it's a vertical lift/pulley system. You pull the boat into the boat house above the cradle and activate the lift. The cradle basically looks like a trailer without the wheels and has a set of bunks.

Here's a lift cradle (work-in-progress)...

+1 on GSPS in Alabama. It was well worth the drive for us from Houston.

I've got a trade too which complicates things a bit. 2009 212ss with EVERY option available and it's FOR SALE.

IMHO, That's an incredible deal!
