Last trip out to the lake we dropped the Slide Anchor and backed the boat up nicely to the beach. Shore spike worked great (and I learned to put on a life jacket while swimming with it). I didn't bother to use the Anchor Buddy Bungie line.

The guys just down the beach had a similar setup, just a little deeper into the lake. At one point they left and when they pulled away, they left their anchor and had a small buoy left behind. When they returned, they just re-clipped to the anchor and shore spike.

I can't do that with my current setup, because I would have 70' of anchor line floating (actually sinking) in the water.

What is the best/easiest solution to "save" my anchor spot?

Does anyone make a larger buoy with a cap/compartment to store the rest of my anchor line?

Do I get a second, shorter anchor line? The Anchor Buddy says not to use it as the only line to the anchor.

You need to buy a nylon anchor line that will sink for your primary anchor. Then you can do like those guys you saw and tie off a buoy or fender to hold one end up for you when you come back.
Use that floating thing you have for your beach anchor end and just make sure you never lose or abandon that thing.

I have no use the same setup, good stuff.

my wife’s cousin used to leave his anchor in place when he was out boarding, until one day he came back to pick it up but found someone else got toit first. I think my box anchor retails for around $200.

unrelated, years ago I had deployed my shore spike at a busy local party spot, “Skiers’ Beach” near Discovery Bay and another boater hooked up to it without asking or telling me. That didn’t seem right to me.
