I have a slightly bothersome rattle on idle when I'm on the water. It sounds like it's coming from the starboard/stern corner. When under way at higher RPM, it sounds just fine. There doesn't seem to be any major cavitation, since I get up to 52 mph.

When the boat is on the trailer and I start the engines, there is a loud rattle from both of them, which is loudest in the jet nozzle area. The starboard engine is worse. If I rev up it sounds terrible. There's no debris in there. The shafts don't have any play on them when tugging on them through the cleanouts. I have never pulled the jet pumps and didn't feel like getting into that today.

Sounds like swollen wear rings, correct? Is there any further diagnostics I can do without starting to pull things apart? There's no way to turn them impeller to see if it's catching without pulling the whole shaft out, correct?

'20 212X.

Thanks!

Few possable areas of rattle wear ring will hear on hose almost never on water. Engine cuppler can rattle and midshaft bearing these will make rattle in or out of water
