In my previous engineering role i use to support field builds extensively. I've gotten a few calls about bolts too short, or maybe a undersized hole diameter......

Classic case of upper management being so far removed from the task at hand.

I love the closing statement. "When you separate the rail operator from the train company," he said, "this is what happens."

How true is that. It happens in my line of work often where the guy setting the specs never considers the experience/expertise of the end user.
