Hey guys and gals, check out our latest video:

Nice video Will but wow, just wow !!

How dumb can Yamaha actually be, flushing points in the clean out compartment that you have to open to get too but then there's the engine cut off switches!

Yeah, we'll likely be relocating ours. Video to come soon.

Great series of videos on the new boat Will.

I'm trying to wrap my head around how the flush ports are supposed to work without flooding your engine with water! Whoever decided that location must not actually own of have driven these boats or know how they operate. Even if you have a shutoff valve for the flush adapter it seems you would still need to close the swim deck latch so the kill switches disengage but then it seems you would be crimping the water flow from the shut hatch o_O:banghead:. Someone was high that day :penguin:....

@haknslash yeah, not well thought through, I agree.

There's a cutout area under the hatch for the hose to pass through on each side. Still not the smartest place to put it

There appears to be a cutout where a hose can pass through unkinked.

Yeah but still you have to turn the hose 90 degrees to insert it into the flush port. This means you'll need at least 1.5 feet of flush hose and a ball valve to make it work well.

I really liked the location of the flush ports last year on my 212 Limited S. Easy to get to and no worries with water spraying in storage lockers.

Why did Yamaha not just mount it in the cabin area? You know, that way you're near the key to fire up the engine and turn on/off the water easier. I never understood why Yamaha moved them to the swim platform last year on some models. The issue with the older location wasn't so much that it was inside the cabin area it was more to do with how low they installed the flush port and that it is too close and sometimes half covered by the cushions. All that was really needed was to move the location up or somewhere easier to access. I always liked the mantra work smarter not harder.

I kind of like the flush ports there. It would work great if you had a flush connector that was long enough to connect to the inlet and had a shutoff just outside the hatch. Then you could start the engine, flow the water, let it run, then shut the water, let it run a few seconds and lift the cleanout hatch to stop the engine and switch to the other side.

Sounds like there'll be a JBP long flush line with shutoff coming soon, or a simple 3' garden hose will do ;)

With the flush ports on the swim platform I just don't see how is that more efficient for accessing the ignition and the source of water from a single place inside then cockpit than having to traverse fore and aft. Relying on the kill switches, which we already know can need adjustment from time to time, just seems counter intuitive. I like having my flush port close to the ignition as that makes it real easy to turn on/off the engine or water quickly and without having to move much at all.

I really liked the location on my FSH. It was right by the helm.
